About us

This page exists so anyone can know who is behind what they read, how it is paid for and what we do when we get something wrong. If anything below is unclear, write to us and we will fix it.

What we publish

PENDING — One or two sentences on what this publication covers and how often it appears.

Who edits us

PENDING — Full legal name, legal form and address of the company or association that publishes this site, and the name of the person responsible for it. Anyone holding more than 5% should be named here.

How we are funded

PENDING — Every source of income, in order of importance: subscriptions, advertising, public grants, donations or agreements. If one source supplies more than 20% of the budget, name it. If you take no advertising or public money, say so: the absence of a source is information.

Who writes

Every piece carries a byline. The names link to a page collecting everything that person has published here, with a short biographical note.

PENDING — Add the list of the team: name, role and one line of background for each person, including those who edit without a byline.

How we work

No piece publishes itself. The person who writes a text cannot put it on the site: they must send it for review, and an editor approves it or returns it with a written reason. That rule is not a habit, it is built into the system, which rejects any attempt to publish without that approval.

Every change of state of a text — submitted, returned, approved, published, withdrawn — is recorded with the date and the person who made it.

Corrections

When we publish something wrong, we correct it and say so. The correction appears at the foot of the article, with its date. We do not rewrite in silence or delete what has already gone out.

If we withdraw a whole piece, its address does not disappear: it answers that the page was withdrawn, instead of pretending it never existed.

  • If you find a factual error, write to us naming the article and the fact.

  • We reply to every request for a correction, including the ones we turn down.

  • Correcting does not change the original publication date.

PENDING — Add the time within which you commit to answer a correction request, and who decides.

Artificial intelligence

PENDING — State what role, if any, automated tools play in what you publish: writing, translation, transcription or image editing. If a text is generated or assisted by AI, it has to say so in the article itself. If you use no such tools, say so explicitly here.

Contact

PENDING — The newsroom's email address and, if there is one, a postal address. It must be an address someone reads: it is also how people request corrections.

Privacy and data

PENDING — Describe what is measured on this site and with which tool. If analytics uses no cookies and does not identify readers, say so, because that explains why there is no cookie notice.
